Pimokabo Philosophy
Pimokabo is named after a word my daughter wrote in chalk before she could read. When we asked what it meant, she said, “I don’t know yet, but I know it’s a word.”
That sentence has inspired my philosophy: you don’t need to know the meaning before you begin. You just need to trust the shape of what you’re creating.

Hello, I am Carrie Venz
I’ve always been fascinated by the moments when people realise they can choose a different direction.
My own life has been shaped by those moments. I left my first degree because it belonged to someone else’s idea of me, and spent the next decade in hospitality; learning how to lead, train, and kept calm for people in the middle of chaos. At 27, I returned to university, despite the doubts of those around me, and completed a dual degree in Arts and Education.
For more than 25 years, I taught senior English, History, and Economics. Those subjects gave me a deep understanding of how language, history, and the economy shape the world and the futures people imagine for themselves.
As my daughters stepped into their adult lives, I felt the pull of my own next chapter. I completed a Graduate Certificate in Career Counselling and Development in 2023 and recently began a Diploma in Life Coaching. My work now is grounded in career direction and life transitions, creating space for people to explore their stories and decide what they want their next chapter to be.

Pimokabo helps people of all ages explore their own stories, values, and strengths to move forward in their studies, career or life. It is a reflective, practical space where clients can make their own aligned pathways decisions. Sessions may include subject selection guidance, senior school planning, career exploration, university or training pathways, re-entering the workforce, navigating a career or study pivot, or coming to terms with a new phase of life.

My approach is steady, reflective, and grounded in helping clients explore their options in career and life transitions. I have been a qualified Career Counsellor since 2023, and I am a registered Queensland teacher with over 25 years of experience guiding young adults through learning, transitions, and decision making.
